Small Group Personal Training

small group personal trainingAn increasingly popular and effective form of training is working in small groups. Two to three participants is the most popular size. This offers several benefits. Studies show greater success and adherence to programs when working with others. It offers an opportunity to work with a chosen friend or two, or to exercise with family, spending quality time while achieving goals. This is a great way to make time with others while also looking after yourself. It can also be economical, as the cost of training can be shared.

If you have a group with similar needs and goals, or if you are training for an event it is highly effective. You do not need to be using the same weights, just similar exercises. We usually do circuit training, so it is a great way to support and motivate each other.  Many who are working at weight loss find this to be of great benefit. It balances support and competition, and is a great motivational tool.

Some people prefer to focus on their own workout, and some prefer the social aspect of working with others. I train several couples who do some of their workouts together, and some individually. It has also been fun for parents to exercise with their children. You can choose either method, or both.
